Volunteer opportunities

Parish Picnic

This ministry calls upon the talents of our parishioners to organize the annual picnic at Immaculate Conception; its purpose is to “cater” specifically to the social needs of our parishioners, bringing them together as a parish family. Weekly committee meetings begin during the early summer to plan for the September picnic. The varied aspects to planning the picnic provide an opportunity for people of diverse talents to participate in this largest single day social event on our parish calendar.

Parish Festival Committee

The Parish Festival Committee plans and coordinates all aspects of the annual parish festival, which is usually held in June each year. We are always looking for new volunteers and fresh ideas to make our festival a safe and fun attraction to all ages. New members are encouraged to start early in the year (February) so we can be set once festival time comes. For more information please contact Laura Vitelli at (908) 735-7319..

Mother’s Retreat

Our annual Mother’s Retreat provides the opportunity for mothers to get away from the busyness of home to reflect on their vocation of motherhood in a holy, peaceful environment; and, to nourish their Catholic faith, in order to bring a spiritual renewal to their role as mother at home as they provide for their families.

The retreat is held at the St. Francis Retreat House in Easton, PA. On the retreat we offer a variety of experiences for your spiritual enrichment including talks, prayer reflections, a Mothers’ Rosary, discussion groups, a reconciliation service, and Sunday Mass.  Also scheduled into your stay is time for quiet personal reflection, as well as time for fellowship.  The retreat begins on Saturday morning and closes with lunch on Sunday.  The team stays over an additional night before to prepare.

The Mother’s Retreat is led by a team of mothers from ICC, who gather regularly throughout the year to plan the retreat while nourishing their own spirits along the way.  Anyone interested in being a part of the retreat team may join us at anytime—although ideally in June, which is the start of the preparation journey.

Next Year’s Retreat:  April 20-21, 2013  Look for registration March 2013.

Adult Faith Formation

In response to the growing desire from the community for education and enrichment geared toward adults, a series of presentations has been developed that address core tenants of the Catholic Tradition.  Most often these presentations are incorporated into the Family PREP Program of Religious Education.  Additionally we offer on a periodic basis presentations from guest speakers and distribute various catholic brochures, literature, and devotionals.
