Service to the Church

Altar Rosary Society

We, the ladies of the Altar Rosary Society of ICC would like you to know more about our ministry.

The Altar Rosary Society is an organization whose primary purpose is to “praise and honor the Blessed Virgin Mary and to secure her patronage by the recitation of the Rosary.” Prayers are said for the intentions of our members, our Parishioners, the poor, the unborn, world peace and all of God’s family. Inspirational talks, discussions and devotions make up part of the monthly meetings.

It is also a very active social organization for women of the Parish. Working together we put all of our efforts into our cake sales, Advent sales and helping with the First Communion and Confirmation photos. We have joined with Rosary Societies of other Parishes for prayer and social events. And we can’t for get our annual Communion Breakfasts and the best Christmas parties ever.

Monies raised through fundraising projects are used to purchase rosaries for First Communicants, RCIA candidates and inmates of the Edna Mahan prison as well as special needs such as vestments and altar cloths.

Membership is open to anyone desiring to pray the Rosary, and everyone is welcome.  Meetings are held in the parish hall on the second Tuesday of most months,7:00-9:00 pm During the months January-February-March, two meetings are held on the same day in order to accommodate most schedules: 1:00 pm and 7:00 pm.  Notice of all meetings and activities are published in the bulletin. For more information, please contact Linda Lauchaire at llauchaire@gmail.com or at 908-303-1945.

Baking Ministry

Do you love to bake? Perhaps, the baking ministry is for you! The Baking Ministry is available for functions related to the church. Your only commitment would be to bake when you are called and bring your baked item to the designated location. Your baked item, whether a cake, cookies, bread, or cupcakes may be used for a bake sale, a reception after Mass or any other need as they arise. If the baked goods are sold, the money goes to the church to help needy members in our parish. The baker donates all baked goods.

The committee is open to men and women of all ages. For more information contact Rosemarie Zakszewski at (908) 237-9535.

Sanctuary Guild

As our Parish mission is to unite all of our members in God’s name, the Sanctuary Guild shares in this goal by keeping our Church beautiful for all of our fellow parishioners. The Sanctuary Guild does its work on a weekly basis every Monday morning after 9’o clock mass for about an hour. It includes doing many tasks that are essential to keeping God’s house clean including dusting, mopping, vacuuming and polishing.  These jobs are performed by a small group of dedicated parishioners, but new volunteers are always welcome with open arms.  In addition to cleaning on a weekly basis, the Sanctuary Guild also contributes to making the Church beautiful by decorating for our religious holidays such as Easter and Christmas.  If you would like to participate in the Sanctuary Guild’s activities or would like additional information about our work please contact Barbara Sullivan at 908-236-6080.

Welcoming Ministry

As our ministry's name suggests, our mission is to welcome all newcomers to Immaculate Conception Church. New families who register at ICC will receive a phone call from a member of our outreach team welcoming them to Immaculate Conception and offering answers and assistance where needed.

The members of the Welcoming Ministry want to help members become comfortable in the parish and hope they will become involved in one or more of our wonderful ministries and activities.
