Women’s Cornerstone

(Click to visit Women's Cornerstone Page)

Do you ever wish you could stop the world for a day, catch your breath and have a chance to reflect on what’s really important in your life?  Women’s Cornerstone will provide just that.

Since 1997, over 623 women have gathered, like the biblical “Women at the Well,” and participated in the Cornerstone experience renewing their spiritual life.  Women from all walks of life have gained a greater understanding of themselves and what it means to be part of a Christian community.  During Cornerstone you will have the opportunity to meet and interact with other women from the Parish community in a warm, welcoming environment.  It is an opportunity to share your journey, strengthen your faith, come closer to God and grow in Christian community.

This year we are celebrating our 20th anniversary by making the experience a special one day event on Saturday, April 9th 2016. The experience will begin at 8:00 a.m. with a light breakfast, and end with a reception following 8 p.m. Mass. For more information or to register, contact Donna Sekula (908) 832-0777.

Men’s Cornerstone

(Click to visit Men's Cornerstone Page)

In today’s world, the demands for your time are ever-increasing and in the end there is less time for YOU. Cornerstone is a 26 hour event that gives time back to you and lets you think about where you are on your life’s journey. We all strive to be better at work, at home and in the world, but we all have challenges that we struggle through. Share this time with other men like yourself and learn quickly that you are not alone.

If you connect with these words above, we would like you to consider joining us on the Cornerstone weekend. Many men of Immaculate Conception have marked the Cornerstone weekend as a life-changing event. Disconnect yourself for 26 hours and join us. You will be grateful that you did.

The next Men’s Cornerstone weekend is January 29 and 30, 2016.  If you are interested in attending, please contact Mike Wellons at 908-752-4847 (home), 908-399-5911(cell) or

Men’s Journey

Men’s Journey is an Immaculate Conception men's group that has met since the early 2000’s. The name implies that we are men who are constantly on a journey in our day to day lives. The group is focused on Fellowship, Faith and Food. We find our meetings help us share together along our journey.

Our group is involved in two service projects: providing all food for the annual Immaculate Conception Men’s Cornerstone retreat in January and also maintaining the vegetable garden for the Sister’s of Hope in Bloomsbury, New Jersey.

The group meets once a month at a team member’s home for Fellowship, Faith sharing and Wonderful Food! For more information, contact Mike Szalecki at or 908-268-6732.

Living Faith Prayer Group

This group meets the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month at 7:30 PM in various homes to praise and listen to God.  We are a CHARISMATIC SPIRITED prayer group that strives to grow in holiness through prayer, reading scripture, celebrating the sacraments, studying our faith and serving others in intercessory prayer for healing.  We are a group of people who come together in an informal, but regular way for shared prayer and mutual support in Jesus Christ.  We are united by our experience being baptized in the SPIRIT an in the exercise of the charismatic gifts.  Praise is expressed in a number of ways: song, spontaneous or formal prayer, silence, or shouts of joy.  God may speak to those gathered through scripture, teaching, exhortation, charismatic gifts, and personal sharing. For more information contact Jerry Savacool (908) 735-7804.

Dads Advising Dads (“DADs”)

What is DADs?

DADs was created by the men of your parish, your neighbors, the guys you see every day in our community.  It is run by men just like you, who are striving to be virtuous fathers, nurturing our children and grandchildren to become strong, caring, and God-loving people. The DADs ministry engages in several types of activities:

  •     DADs in Dialogue:  Monthly conversations where we share how we deal with the real-life challenges we face as Dads and talk about how the virtues can help us respond to these challenges in a Christ-like manner;
  •     DADs in Fellowship:  Regular get-togethers where we just hang out and get to know each other better;
  •     DADs in Action:  Dads aren’t just talkers; we’re doers.  You’ll find us going for a run or a bike ride together; hosting fun activities for the whole family; and working together on charitable activities that benefit our parish and our community.
  •     On Tuesday April 30, 2013, in the Parish Hall, The DADs Ministry sponsored The Speakin’ Deacons - Deacons Mike, Joe, and Michael, in an open question and answer session on church related matters.  Approximately 75 parishioners came to hear the Deacons speak on matters of forgiveness, purgatory, who gets into heaven

    and why, and several other relevant topics. Along with Catechism and theological support, they added their special brand of humor for an informative and entertaining evening.

Who Can Attend? Whether you’re a first time dad or a seasoned grandfather, if you’re a Dad, you’re already a member.  Everyone is welcome.  We invite you to spend some time with us to experience a DADs meeting.

Spiritual Direction

Spiritual direction is the contemplative practice of helping another person or group to awaken to the mystery called God in all of life, and to respond to that discovery in a growing relationship of freedom and commitment. (James Keegan, SJ, Roman Catholic, USA, on behalf of the 2005 Coordinating Council of Spiritual Directors International)

What is the purpose of Spiritual Direction? Being involved in spiritual direction helps the person seeking direction (directee) to recognize and respond to God’s ongoing invitation for a closer relationship. Learning how to be attentive or notice God’s presence and action in our lives is a big part of what spiritual direction seeks to do. This new awareness often leads the directee to make life choices based on their new awareness of what God is doing in their life.
